Carneys Point Township sits in the western portion of Salem County. Within the borders of this vibrant community are major corporations such as DuPont, Chemors and Atlantic City Electric. The Community College of Salem County has its main campus, and the Delaware River and Bay Authority has built a business park.
Carneys Point is well connected with the rest of New Jersey and the world with access to Interstate 295, the New Jersey Turnpike, rail, and marine shipping – all within the borders of our community.
We are less than a 30 minute drive to Philadelphia, PA or Wilmington, DE, whose train station can help you journey up and down the east coast. At the center of Carneys Point sits Dunn’s Park. With its picturesque fountain and flower lined walks and majestic trees, it is often used as a backdrop for weddings and other special occasions. At the Northern end of our town sits the Carneys Point Recreation Complex. This facility largely maintained by volunteers from the community has everything from softball and baseball fields to soccer fields. It also contains the first fully handicap-accessible playground for all children in the state of New Jersey. In the fall, the Recreation Committee sponsors a community campout that seems to grow substantially, every year.
If you enjoy golf, the Sakima County Club is available to let you unwind, or entertain business connections. The Salem County Sportsmens Club is the home of many community outings and recreation opportunities.
Living in Carneys Point is affordable, with a relaxing country feel. Even with our increased growth, there’s a “certain something” that makes life that much more enjoyable and comforting.
